The Character of Characters, Xu Bing’s hand-animated take on the history and development of human language and Chinese calligraphy is featured in the exhibition Out of Character: Decoding Chinese Calligraphy- Selections from the Collection of Akiko Yamazaki and Jerry Yang at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The artwork was originally commissioned by the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation and the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and will be on view at the Met through August.
